Nice post! I have an interest in Alaskan maritime history even though I have moved to RI. I went to St. paul in Mid May 1991 to watch the fur seals up close (really close). On the beach below the cliffs of Telegraph Hill in a similar listing position as the Cougar Ace, sat a wreck called the Terminator. Most of the items which were not immediately salvaged were found on locals (i.e. Helly-Hansen gear, mustang suits etc). The boat started in this predicament in 1989 and got stuck on the beach. With no immediate threat to anyone, the vessel just loomed on the other side of the island. It more than likely is still there.

The list below shows all wrecks in Alaska US F&W refuges. It is enormous as is the impact on the environment.
