I've been cruising e-bay for tanks and I keep seeing tanks that have been used for paintball advertised as paintball/scuba tanks. Aside from having to replace the fittings (I assume) is there any good reason to pass up a deal on these tanks?

Thanks in advance!

Rachel

Paintballers have been using scuba tanks for bulk gas storage for a while now. As long as they are actually intended for scuba, I wouldn't pass on them. Most of the time I believe they use the standard K valve so you don't have to replace it. You can probably find some good deals on them. Just make sure to check weather or not a hydro is necessary. You will need to have them VIP'd though as most sellers send tanks empty besides, it's a good idea anyway.

How about using my old paintball air tank(about 10 cf) for a pony bottle????? Sounds like a great idea! Just swap the valve out for a k valve right???

hey i have played paintball now for 2 years. And i use a compressed air tank..Which is an n2 tank (nitrous) that also is for compressed air. But there is no diffrence when you see a tank on ebay that says Scuba Tank And paintball tank. All it is, is a plain scuba tank with a k value or j but with a special little attachement that goes on and screws write off. just like the first stage
