Given a known tank size in cubic feet and pressure, say a 130 at 3442 psi. Is there a mathematical formula to find out how much more my tank weighs? Thanks for any help.:doctor:

The pressure doesn't really matter (unless your in Europe where tanks are rated by water volume), all you care about is the compressed volume of air.

Most people quote an 80cuft of air at about 6lbs, it's probably close enough. so 120 cuft would be 9 lbs 40 would be 3 etc.

so to get the approximate weight of the air in lbs it would be

(capacity/80) *6

You can calculat the amount of air your tank is holding at a given pressure as

(pressure/rated presure) * rated capacity

Dry air weighs about .08 pounds/ cubic foot at standard temperature and pressure, or about 1.3 grams/l.
So a standard AL 80 will hold about 6.4 pounds of air when full (or an 11L tank will hold about 2.86Kg at 200 bar).
