SCUBA and NASCAR...don't ya need teeth to hold in a reg? Just kidding. NASCAR is genius at marketing. Look around and its hard to find something that doesnt have a NASCAR logo on it. If it brings more divers in, great. More money for the stores, dive destinations, operators, employees, Instructors, DiveMasters, etc....

Lets get some gear out and start getting Team SCUBA pictures underwater!!!!

Good luck in the '08 season

For one thing the amount of engineering that goes into NASCAR is out of this world.
I work for a valve and regulator manufacturer, one of our engineers just left to go be part of a team that designs the shocks for NASCAR and other race cars. I can't believe there is such a "hill billy" stereotype of NASCAR fans. All the ones I know are in the engineering and science fields. It is hard to get excited about a bunch of cars racing around an oval, without understanding the engineering that is behind it all.

I love NASCAR, but I will say that anyone who doesn't understand why there is a stereotype on the fans has obviously never been to the infield near turn 1 at the Pocono speedway. There is more beer drinking, and T*t flashing going on then you can take in, trust me I have the pics to prove it. You definetly don't bring a woman you respect into turn 1 at Pocono! Also, something tells me this doesn't just happen at Pocono either.

BTW, Does the Busch series have Toyota yet, or are they just in the Craftman trucks, and Sprint cup divisions ??

Toyota is in the Sprint series as well and the nationwide or whtever they call Busch now. It's hard to keep with over here in Okinawa but I think that it could be a good move for Team Scuba. I am a fan and have all my teeth but I do like my beer. Not all Nascar fans are sterotypical although there are those out there too.

Just thought you might like to read this... it has some interesting facts in it.

NASCAR Demographics (the most desirable demographics of all sports):

* #1 in Brand Loyalty
* #2 Rated sport on TV
* $2.1 billion in licensed sales
* 17 of the top 20 attended sporting events in the US in 2003
* NASCAR races often draw larger crowds than a Super Bowl, NBA Finals game and the World Series game combined
* Participation of more Fortune 500 companies than any other sport
* 10-Month season from February through November
* NASCAR is televised weekly in more than 100 countries around the world
* NASCAR sponsors received nearly $5 billion in total exposure value in 2003 (outstanding ROI)
* NASCAR is outpacing all other sports in growth of PAID attendance Fastest growing spectator sport in America More than 7 million fans attend events annually NASCAR is the number one sport in terms of consumer product brand loyalty
* 72% of NASCAR fans buy sponsor products and services (average 34% for all other sports)
* 40% switch to a product if it’s a NASCAR sponsor
* The average NASCAR fan – well educated, income of $45,000 and average age of 36 NASCAR fans are 5% more likely than general population to travel and make investments
* NASCAR has a fan base of nearly 75 million in the US
* 80% of NASCAR fans carry a major credit card
* 1 in 5 NASCAR fans have a income of $75,000 or greater

NASCAR reaches 215 million TV viewers with the longest season in professional sports with exposure:

* At the track before, during and after a race
* TV – race coverage, news reports
* On the road – car and transporter act as a driving billboard for sponsors
* Company events with car and driver
* Trade shows and events

***Fortune Magazine describes NASCAR racing as being “the most openly commercial sport ever devised”. Since corporate logos serve as team uniforms, fans identify their favorite drivers by the brand they wear. ***

Ya'll are talking about the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Get your statistics and facts straight for the lesser series that the Team Scuba races on... The exposure isn't as prominent as the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
