A frequent dive buddy of mine uses a pair of them.

They are great in cold water and allow clean hose routing with everything pointing down - an arrangement I have always preferred on doubles.

They deliver a ton of air, but in my opinion they breathe a little on the rough side and the inhalation effort is a lot higher than with my Mk 17 D400. I always feel my buddy is getting the better end of the deal on air sharing drills. From the buddy perspective, they are also awkward to purge and use in general - but then I use D400's which also do not have a conventional case and purge cover design, so I don't have a lot of room to talk.

Since you are already a Poseiden user, you will already be aware of parts and service availability issues as well as the high cost of a long hose for one.

I actually use an xstream as primary reg and a jet stream as the back up reg on my doubles without any problems. I think the xstreams breathe easier at shallow depths but the other than that no complaints.

I also dive an xstream and jetstream with my doubles and love them. For cold water diving, I wouldn't dive anything else.

Sounds like a good setup to me, but then I'm far from being impartial.

i dive with several people who use jetstreams on doubles.. and swear by themm
i currently have mk 25's with a d44 and a g250
but am considering jetstreams more because of there cold water reputation

thanks for all your help guys, i too am a poseidon lover. tried many regs but the poseidon xtremes are my favorite. i have a chance to geta friends doubles setup consisting of two sets of jetstreams but i honestly dont need the pair and was just going to get one and pair it with my xtreme for doubles. since you guys answered my question im more at peace now.

what second stage should i use for my primary? the jetstream or xtreme? love the way the jetstreams second stage looks so bad azz

turns out that the jetstream was actually a cyclon. had it serviced and overhauled cost me $30 anyway im planning on using this for my second reg, its exactly like the jetsream, took it apart and no apparent differences to me.
