Dive Rite Classic Wing for Double AL 80's

I'm considering a twin set of AL 80's as the steel 119's I'm wearing now are too big and heavy for some of the diving I'm doing now (e.g. "lite" boarding ladders, dives where there's no bench to don gear). I'm currently using a DR Classic wing. Will this wing work OK with the 80's as well?

Yes it will work fine with double AL 80's.

I have occasionally used a 55lb Halcyon wing with AL80s and its damned big. It works but its just really floppy and the gas gets trapped a bit in the top parts of the taco shell. A smaller 40lb wing is much nicer to vent. I imagine you find the same issues with the DR classic. For now it will work. Down the road a smaller wing would be nicer/easy to dive.

Yes, the Classic will work. And, yes, it is a bit of gas. I use both a Halcyon Explorer and a Classic with double 80s (and I love double 80s for just the reason Flightlead mentioned - easier with boarding ladders, etc.) and find either wing works. I also agree that a smaller wing would work just as well. If a classic is what you have, no worries.

Sure

The classic wing has worked well for me with my double AL 80's. It provides plenty of lift with deco bottles and additional gear, etc.
