HI, new to the board and planning my first "getting wet". We (my mom and i)are heading to the flower gardens in Oct and thought the Trashfest would be a cool start. She is new to diving- one reef dive under her belt and Its been about 5 years for me (last dive in the fridgid waters of South Africa)- but I am still very novice myself. :05:

Has anyone particiapated in this?

BTW: Love the info I have found here. Thanks

Welcome to the board!
Yeah...years ago.

Was it any fun? Organized well enough to enjoy yourself?

From what I've heard by members on this board (you can run a search), this particular trashfest deters many divers due to the entry fee. The cleanups held in Lake Travis and San Marcos tend to get better reviews. Usually trash cleanups are free of charge to all participants.

You do get fed for your fee however. Then again, so do you at other places too.

I'm sure someone who's done the New Braunfels trashfest will be along shortly, and chime in. It's a lovely part of Texas, and nice river diving.

Be sure to check our New Divers forum and invite you mom to join, too...
