I am planning to dive Balmorhea State Park and Santa Rosa Blue hole in NM.

Do you know of any other cool sites near or along our route? See attached image. texas route.jpg

Bottomless lakes state park outside of Roswell.

Also while you are in Santa Rosa check out perch lake it has a plane and other stuff.

Have you been to Balmorhea before?

Just a little caution about Balmorhea it is only 20' at its deepest and is used by many shops for open water and the confined water portions for certification trips so it will be very busy on the weekends.

Memorial day weekend and beyond you better get to Balmorhea State Park early on the weekends. They close the gates when the parking lot is full and that happens pretty early in the day. Take lunch because if you leave you don't get back in until someone else leaves... and there will be a long line ahead of you.

Weekdays you almost have the park to yourself.

Balmorhea State Park, TX - San Solomon Springs
Bottomless Lakes State Park, NM - Lea Lake
Santa Rosa, NM - Blue Hole
Santa Rosa, NM - Perch Lake

I'm assuming you already know about and have dove the stuff around Austin and SA?

Outside of diving, you should also check out:

Caverns of Sonora
Carlsbad Caverns
The oddities that are in Roswell, NM
Bill the Kids grave

Each of which are in path of your road trip.
