Just got a new UW housing for my Canon powershot 40 digital. Does anybody have any experience using this combo? Will I need any additional lights or is the flash in the camera enough?

My wife and I are going to Grand Caymen next month. I plan on testing the camera out in a pool before we leave, but obviously light conditions in the pool won't be the same as the ocean.

I have had a lot of fun with this package (S45 in my case). It would probably benefit from an external strobe but I am pretty happy with the images I have managed to get without one and it is a lot less to lug around.

Settings (from Dee - or someone else on the board who deserves the credit if I can remember their name):

Program (p) mode
Iso 100
Cloudy
Flash optional
Macro optional.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing is to use silica jel packs. I put one in at least two hours before I plan to dive. Never had a condensation problem.

Have fun.

Thanks! Your photo's look great, I'll try the settings.
