Hello , I have a PT 22 and a C770 ( older one ) . I bought a Sea and Sea YS 60 with a 4 pin connector ( N type ? ) . I read the Heinrich - Weinkamp has a replacement for the Olympus bulkhead . Has anyone had experience with it ? Also is the original bulkhead really as bad as stated on forums ? Lastly , is there any other options for using this Sea and Sea YS 60 set up with my C770 with a hotshoe . Kind regards Kevin

There are many on the forum using H/W converters. I have one currently being installed, so I can't tell you the effectiveness. One other alternative is http://www.divervision.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=49&products_id=296
which uses the H/W hotshoe card with an internal cord to the original bulkhead and a Oly to Nikonos conversion cord. I've also heard of a similar conversion cord that will let you use the hotshoe for manual firing without ttl. I haven't been able to locate that one, but the cord for the above "Divervision" unit might do the same.

I have used the H/W bulkhead with both my 5060 and 7070 - it works perfectly.

The cap on the original bulkhead, if not fitted with an o-ring at the bottom, will corrode and permanently attach itself to the bulkhead. You need to do plenty of post dive care to avoid this situation - don't ask me how I know this !!!
