Asking this question again as it was not answered definitively last time it came up:

Does anyone know the maximum compact flash memory card capacity supported? Modern CF has some pretty astounding capacities available which I would like to take advantage of.

No first hand experience, but a quick search found a review (Steve's Digicams) that stated that the C7070 is FAT32 compatible. FAT32 CF cards come in up to 64GB, from what I could find. Why you would need a 64GB card is a mystery to me. I use about 10 gigs on a 10 day vacation, shooting RAW. I use 8, 12 or 16GB in my D300, which has larger files.
