Folks
I am new to the forum, but want to start getting into underwater photography.

I am looking at 2 different cameras.

1. SEA AND SEA DX750G with the YS15 strobe $735 us
2. SeaLife DC500 5.0MP with a Sealife strobe (not digital) $675

Does anyone have any experience with these two cameras?

I have read some good and bad on the DC500, but have not seen much on the DX750.

Thank you for any help you can give me!

Don

I have the same question and same problem. I can not find reviews for the DX750. I have found negative reviews of the DC500. Please help!

Both of these systems offer no manual control from the user. If your goal is snapshots, these will be fine. If you ever plan to take an underwater photography class, or want anything more than green vacation pictures, you should strongly consider something that offers manual control.

Cameras like a Sea & Sea DX-8000g, Canon S80, and Olympus SP-350 can all be used in their automatic modes, and initially function exactly like these cameras, but allow you to grow into the manual controls that are necessary to make great pictures.
