I was taking pictures underwater then I popped my head and camera above water to take some shots of my boat . Photo was ruined cause of water still on lens.

Is there a way to keep this from happening? I use my Sony hx30v in ikelite underwater housing for snorkeling sometimes so want to solve this problem.

Thanks

I usually just check before I take that picture.

Baby shampoo - apply evenly then gently rinse.

Yep, baby shampoo works a treat, or alternative is to use mask defog spray if you have some in your pocket. Makes the water run straight off.

RainX works fine on glass ports, but be very careful with it on plastic ports. A drop of defog will work but you have to apply it in the air before you take the picture.

Thanks a lot guys. I'll try the baby shampoo and defog first.

Rain X will cause acrylic to craze.

It will ruin coatings on glass lenses.
