Guests on this trip have repeated trips with us from 1 to 6 times. There are 2
​

couples, the other divers are each traveling solo, more than 50% are women divers. ​

These divers do not all know each other as they have not all been on the same trip.​

No cliques - everyone is very open and friendly.

No single cabins are available on this trip.​

I can promise a same gender cabin mate if you travel solo - no single supplement.

This is one of the Value-Added charters I've organized since 2004.

:admin: I limit guests to 12, hire a very experienced cruise director, hire some of the best
​

dive guides (all instructor-level) available, hire a local guide to help read the waters.
They are in addition to the ship's normal crew (or in some cases may replace some of
the crew). I will escort the trip to supervise it myself.

There will also be a Photo Pro aboard to assist with your photography on this trip.
​

One-on-one instruction is available as is help before and after your trip.

Cost of the trip is only a small amount more that a comparable trip with a full boat
of guests. And are actually less expensive per diving day when the
trip cost, fees, and Nitrox are included in the calculation.

This trip departs Sorong April 20, 9AM, diving first (April 20) and last (May 3) days.
Spend the night of May 3 on the ship, depart Ambon May 4 (or stay at one of the
two resorts - extend your stay with more muck diving). I ask all divers to arrive in
Sorong on April 19 and overnight at a hotel so as not to delay our departure and
insure we will dive on departure day. I will arrange the hotel for the group.

The ship is SMY Ondina - updated/improved in June 2014, in top-notch shape.
Cabins have AC, ensuite bath. The dive deck is indoors. For photographers: large
camera table & storage, 2 large padded camera rinse tanks, individual charging stations.
Indoor wetsuit storage with rinse tank has 2 hot showers on dive deck level.
There are 3 public areas: covered sundeck, large bow table with seats & hammocks,
indoor AC lounge/dining with many power points and space for computers.

We will dive in "teams" of 3 or 4 guests with one dive guide to minimize B&B
(butts and bubbles) on the dive site.

I am happy to provide assistance with your International itinerary to/from Indonesia
and book domestic Indonesia flights, hotels and side trips for you, or make
recommendations.

Because this trip was organized for repeat guests, it is not documented

Indonesia just recently did away with their gas subsidies... I can't remember if it still has subsidized diesel... maybe that has something to do with it.

( I'm doing an Ambon to Sorong trip in November and can hardly wait)

Interesting that the fuel surcharge was just increased.

As of 07JAN the fuel surcharge increased by 50EUR on all trips after 11JAN, mine, normal trips, other charters. Even if already paid. The ships' terms & conditions allow them to increase if there is a substantial increase in fuel prices or port fees, etc.

There are also major increases in fees ships pay in various areas of Indonesia so the increase applies to every destination, not just Raja Ampat.
