This user has no trader rating score. Leave Feedback.

Aldora Divers and The New Hotel Fontan are hosting a kid's scuba camp during two weeks this summer. Monday through Friday July 16-20 and August 13-17. The goal is to provide child care/activities and Junior Certifications as desired, while the parents get to do their morning dives. Afternoon dives can be made with the children.

Complete details will be posted shortly on the Aldora Divers web page www.aldora.com but we can send information if reqested.

Dave,
That is great! We are renting a house(8-11 thru 18) just south of the Fontan and I have a niece and nephew I planned on getting the JC. BTW, one of the couples is booked at the Fontan. Will watch for details on webpage. Also, just returned the 16th from a long weekend at the villa and diving with Aldora. As usual great time diving and at the villa. Will miss Greg and Kay this summer.

Dave
Again we want to thank you and the guys at aldora for the wonderful week in Cozumel. Our newly certified divers(ages 10 and 12) loved the kid's scuba camp and are ready for a return trip.
As a non-diving mom I was impressed with the individual time and attention each child in the camp received.
Memo and Leiang (sp?) were great with the kids-lots of fun but very very safety minded. And of course we all think you are great! Thanks again for the great trip and we hope to see you for a return trip soon. Robert and Deb

Dave, Our two boys (also age 10 & 12) loved the Scuba Camp as well. Both are looking forward to return trips and doing adventure courses and the Jr. AOW course.

For other parents considering the August session, here's my review:

This was Aldora's first "camp" session and it worked great, though it differed from a traditional "Camp". It was more of an intensive athletic training camp. Kids have to master the same academic modules and skills as the adults do, using the same text. So it was classroom work in the morning starting at 7:30am, followed by skill introduction and practice in the saltwater pool. Their "fieldtrips" were shore dives every afternoon. Though they never wanted to leave the ocean, the kids worked hard and were truly tired at the end of each day. Even the most energetic of kids were dozing off at dinner.

The kids had their two open water dives for certification on Thursday afternoon at Chankanab and Paradise, and two dives as certified divers on Friday. At Palancar Garden they got their first swim throughs and a glimpse out at the blue-purple deep. The last dive, at Tormentos, was a true drift dive and all the kids really loved the sensation of flying.
