Winter Diving at White Star this weekend! March 6 -7, 2010
White Star Quarry will be open for diving this coming weekend March 6 - 7 from 10am until 4pm. You have to be registered by 1pm to dive! The scuba concession building will be heated and we are heating the changing rooms for the day, so we are planning on diving regardless of the weather. Visibility should be fantastic.
We are planning on having FREE coffee, hot chocolate, soup and hotdogs for anyone who shows up to dive you must register at the Concession building since we different rules for winter diving. Be careful to check out the web page before you leave to come down since there may be ice on the quarry which will limit diving to ice certified divers. We will post it here and on our web page or you can call at 419 637 DIVE.
Remember the quarry opens for diving every day April 1st at 8am!
Just an update from today: There is a great layer of ice so there will be ice diving for sure this weekend! Hope to see you for what will be the last ice dive 2010 at White Star.
Any pics of some of the notables at whitestar in that great Vis?? Chip truck, crusher, blockhouse?? are are the holes not cut anywhere near those areas?
Rich... I've seen them for myself but never in the vis you get under the ice!! Most of my dives have been at whitestar. I look forward to another great season out there. You guys (divers inc) do a great job out there. keep up the good work!
Yeah... I'm thinking we're going out to opening day ... well maybe!! What is the temp. at depth? I don't go dry but I'm in the process of purchasing a semi-dry.
