We are divers and we are very fond of wet people Three bedroom 3 bath home sleeps 6 only a few minutes from the Kihei boat ramp. See Our Cool Maui House and come for a visit.
We just booked another home in Kihei, but yours looks great and we'll do a drive by for next time! Am a new member to the site, found it looking for Maui dive shop and dive spot recs. We are a family of four that likes to dive every day but on budget. Found a shop on Oahu that has 10 dive packages for $450, looking for something similar (maybe 20 for $700) on Maui. Unheard of or doable?
Many of the dive operators on Maui will give you a 10-20% discount for booking multiple dives, but Lahaina Divers is the only one I know of that does package deals. They have 5 charters for $555, 3 charters for $313, etc.....check their website. Be aware that if you're staying in Kihei, Lahaina is about a 45-60 minute drive each way.
The best rate I know of in the Kihei area is 2/$119 with B&B Scuba.
Other generally recommended dive outfits in that area are Ed Robinson's and Mike Severns.
For escorted shore diving check with Maui Dreams Dive Co. or Shaka Divers.
There's also self-guided shore diving in the area. Wailea Beach is a pretty good dive. Maui Dreams rents tanks as do some of the Maui Dive Shop locations. This site has pictures of the entries in addition to descriptions: Scuba Shore Diving Site Listing for: Maui, Hawaiian Islands Parking at some of the sites fills up fast!
