Some addtioanl information about Costa Maya - There is a festival planned in the town of Mahahual 17, 18 and 19 July, 2009. Plenty of activities planned for the whole family. Rooms are filling up fast at this price.

What is transportation like? Where would you fly into?

There are two options for flights - one is a domestic flight with connection from Mexico City to Chetumal. The second and usually most cost effective is flights into Cancun. Cancun offers the best price with all the flights daily from various cities. Check USA3000 for good price with many non-stop flights from gateway cities - Baltimore, Newark, or Detroit to name a few.

Once in Mexico two options rent a car or take the bus. A rental car will give you the most freedom to move about. The drive is easy and the roads are very good. Or the second option is the ADO bus from Cancun or Chetumal. The bus from Cancun makes several stops on the way down - Playa del Carmen, Tulum and a few others.
