Hello everyone,
Scuba 2000 is running a dive trip to SoCal from Tuesday November 13th to Monday November 19th. We will be staying on a liveaboard, the Bottom Scratcher, for 2 nights, visiting Catalina island. Then we will stay on the Queen Mary for one night, diving Laguna, Huntington, and Redondo beaches. Then we will explore the Hollywood/Beverly Hills area the last 2 days.
The trip will cost $1575 Cdn and include the airfare, transfers, accommodation, dive boat, meals and dives on the dive boat, car rentals and the applicable taxes on all these. Extra costs will be for meals other than on the boat, tanks and weights other than on the boat, share of gas, park fees, plus tours and shopping.

Tuesday, November 13
Flight from Toronto to Los Angeles 6:25PM – 8:55PM
Shuttle service to The Bottom Scratcher Live-A-Board in Long Beach
Overnight on The Bottom Scratcher
Wednesday, November 14
The Bottom Scratcher sails for Catalina Island – diving in the kelp forests; diving for lobsters, spearfishing, photography, etc.
Tour of the Catalina Hyperbaric Facility; Steak and lobster BBQ on the beach.
Thursday, November 15
More reef, rock and kelp diving around Catalina Island with great photo opportunities.
The Bottom Scratcher sails back to Long Beach to arrive in the early evening.
Taxi service to our hotel for the evening – the RMS Queen Mary Hotel – sleep in an original, wood-paneled First Class Suite on this historic ship – bigger than the Titanic!
Several exhibits and shows on board plus the bars and dining rooms – unforgettable!
Friday, November 16
Visit to the famous Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach – the best in North America!
Pick up our rental vans and start a dive tour of SoCal – Laguna Beach: the birthplace of scuba, Huntington Beach: spearfishing contests in the 50’s & 60’s, Redondo Beach: testing site for early scuba gear. Drive to our hotel in Hollywood (Holiday Inn).
Saturday, November 17
The Holiday Inn Hollywood is just steps from Mann’s Chinese Theatre, on the Walk of the Stars (find your favorite star’s star), next to the Kodak Theatre (Home of the Oscar presentations), minutes from the Hollywood Bowl (famous hang-out in the hip 60’s), close to Hollywood shopping, tours of the Homes of the Stars.
Complimentary shuttle to Universal Studios Adventure Park.
It’s a short drive to famous Santa Monica Pier which is close to Venice Beach (bikinis and muscles). There’s also lots of bargain shopping close by for very affordable fashions that are not yet in Canada.
Sunday, November 18
This is the last day to pick up souvenirs, clothes, electronics or other items; to lie on the beach or do more tours of Hollywood/Beverley Hills.
Return rental vans to LAX.
