Years ago I used to spearfish using a break down pole spear that actually was very much like a Hawian Sling except the spear did not actually leave the "handle". The rubber was attached to the end of the spear (passed through an eye on an attacehed plastic knob) while he other end of the rubber passed through an ey on the plastic handle. You slid the handle down the spear shaft and the handle had a spring loaded catch the would click into place on a notch ring on the shaft. You swam holding the handle and when you wanted to shoot a fish you would puch the button and the shaft was propelled forward but was prevented from leaving the handle by the plastic end piece.
Are these around any more and if so where could I get one.
