ELF lionfish spear

Has anyone heard of or used this spear? It is 24 inches long and threaded for 6mm spear heads.

Just learned how to use one in Bonaire, STINAPA has a Lionfish Hunting Specialty class.

They are popular in places like Bonaire, where it's the only spear you are legally allowed to use, but everywhere else most people use polespears. The ELF and other sling style devices require two hands to shoot, making it difficult to also carry a containment device for storing the lionfish. Polespears, while you need your other hand for a split second to load the spear, can then be aimed and shot with one hand.
