Where is the best / legal place to spearfish Lincod and other fish in Monterey Bay. I'm reading the Cal Fish and Game regs and I'm just confused even more.

There are several Marine Protected Areas in and around Monterey. Most do not allow the taking of any living thing. Check out each of these areas before hunting.

If Monterey Bay is calm, head south to Garrapata SP.
You will also have better luck at Stillwater Cove (17mi Dr.).
Sometimes you may see Lingcod at Carmel River SB at the river mouth. Easy access. Good for Rockfish. Check Regs for size and limits. Memorize protected fish.
