First Time Bug huntin trip coming up in Catalina, Ca

Hi All,

I am going on my first lobster dive Thanksgiving weekend with a few friends. Besides reading up on this forum any advice for a first timer? I know absolutely nothing at this point. First I'll have to check up on regs and rules for my area. Any techniques and tips though from the more experienced hunters would be great to get me pointed in the right direction.

Are you planning to dive from shore, from a mainland dive boat or on one of our local dive boats? Catalina has ~54 miles of coastline with largely variable conditions.
