MAKO Spearguns announces a new recoil stabilizer. As many people have discovered, a gun mounted Go-Pro can deliver a unique perspective and the video tends to be very stable and smooth, because a speargun is a large, steady, mounting platform - that is, until it is fired.

Generally the recoil of most guns is strong enough to cause the camera housing to pivot on the mounting bolt.

The camera often misses the exact shot of the shaft firing and the camera ends up pointing at a downward angle. We had previously offered an aluminum angle bracket that adequately addressed this issue. We’ve come up with an entirely different solution that is cleaner, smaller and easier to use.

The MAKO Spearguns recoil stabilizer is made in two different configurations, one for the Hero 3 and one for the Hero 3 Plus housing. If you are buying a Go Pro speargun mount (we have mounts for wood guns and “pipe” guns), make sure you consider purchasing this important and inexpensive accessory. It is an option on the pull down menu (or it can be purchased separately, of course).

Hopefully Dave’s video does a better job of explaining it than I am.
