Spearfishing near Boca Raton

Hey everyone. My girlfriend and I are heading down to boca next weekend to visit her friend and I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for spearing some dinner. Ill be limited to nearshore spots since I won't have access to a boat. If there are any decent reefs relatively close to shore I could also rent a kayak for the day if that would increase the odds of bringing something home. I live in Michigan where we aren't allowed to shoot anything tasty, so whenever I get near the ocean, I start to get the itch
