Came across this the other day, nice price and screws together so won't pull apart like a foldspear. Anyone have one of these?

Just don't try using it in Bonaire, or even try taking it into the country.

?? I took a 3 piece spear into Curacao last April with no difficulties. . . so why is Bonaire different?

Different country, different rules. "No spears."

Bonaire is not an independent country. It is an overseas municipality of the Netherlands, an integral part of that nation, along with Saba and Statia. Curacao is an autonomous state within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. They all were part of the Netherlands Antilles until that Dutch controlled construct was dissolved a few years ago.

In any case, Bonaire as a municipality has its own local regulations, which are very stringent in matters having to do with reef protection and fisheries control.
