SeaLife DC500 == Vivicam 5340s

For those that have been searching for which camera is used
inside of the SeaLife DC500. It is a Vivitar Vivicam 5340s.

It does appear that SeaLife has worked with Pioneer Research
to develop a special firmware load for the camera. So it won't
be exactly the same as the 5340.

It looks like the 5340 is not yet available in the US. However,
there are WEB retailers that are carrying it.

One of the firmware changes has to do with the underwater flash and strobe options.

I don't think you'll find the underwater strobe option on the non Sealife camera.

For those DC500 owners who might be looking at getting a backup or replacement camera the Sealife Firmware does work fully with the Vivitar 5340S. Saves a few bucks particularly in Australia.
