That's a red-lipped batfish--really bizarre and one of my main goals from the trip. We found several near Floreana Island. Here it is in profile:

If you spend any time in Guayaquil on the mainland, stay the the Unipark hotel. There's a park across the street that is full of land iguanas--good photo ops right in the middle of town. You should enjoy a lot warmer water than we had (63 F in some places). We were at Santa Cruz, Isabela, and Floreana. The batfish was found at a site called Punta Cormoran on Floreana. Be ready for sea lions at Champion on Floreana. We were supposed to spend the week at Darwin and Wolf, but our boat (Quasar's Alta) ran aground in June and we had to scramble to find a day boat to take us out each day--long, uncomfortable rides on that little boat. Do a liveaboard if possible. Where will you be going?

Great shots Clay. Going very soon and the anticipation is killing me.
