As per Microsoft.com : Tips and tricks for creating a theme
As per how-to geek: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/24609/create-a-windows-7-theme-pack-from-scratch/
Windows7 themes (some publicity) http://windows7themes.net/export-windows-7-themes.html

Since many of us use a Windows 7 computer, wouldn't it be nice to have a community-oriented SB theme made with pics from this community, a nice "plug" to SB, and photo name credits?

Currently when browsing the Windows 7 theme gallery, there isn't a free one with the underwater world.

How can we correct this omission?

I'm just the idea-man behind this, would be nice to have contributions free from copyright, my point being let's get SB promoted before the Windows 8 release. The theme should port easily to Win 8 from Win 7 as-is.

I have the tech skills too - just not official permission - let's flesh out the "how" together. Let's get SB "published" on official Win 7 theme sites, including Microsoft.com

Sound good to me. I don't know crap about creating one, but I would be happy to have some of my photos used.

If we could have some high-res pics - and SB "official permission" to visually watermark the submitted pics, and also have the photographers pre-watermark the submitted pics.

Thus each pic submitted would have a different watermark style, but all would have the same SB watermark.

Pics should be scaled for 16:9 lcd monitors, the higher-end ones do 1920x1080, so that could be the "standard" size.

Once I have "official permission" - maybe SB would prefer to control themselves - I'm a IT specialist & photographer. I own (bought) Photoshop & Lightroom.

I have in my office a server that I can open up a FTP for the uploads of the high-res pics.

I guess I have a few pictures that could be used.
Im currently at work though, so Ill have to get back to the details when I get home.
