Hi! This is my first post. I've been reading all about the higher end point and shoot cameras that are available. I've got a gopro that I enjoyed on my trip to Bonaire, but I'd like to get a better quality camera for still photos. I've looked at the SONY RX-100 but I think with all of the lenses and housing that it will cost too much.

I see here that I can get the G15 for $299 with a canon housing for $239

Canon PowerShot G15 Digital Camera 6350B001 B&H Photo Video

There is also another site that has the fantasea housing for $349

Do you think that the fantasea housing is worth the extra money or is the Canon housing sufficient? I will get a strobe in the near future. It seems like the canon has a strobe connection that isn't shown in many of the pictures of it online. I have a UK aqualite with 90 degree head for my GP and would use that as a fill light with the GP mounted to the cold shoe.

Would you be happy with that setup or what would you change. It's hard to pass up what seems like a really nice setup for under $600.

Thanks!

Hey Matt, It's a nice setup espcecially for the price. It's came down on price because they came out with the G16 in October. As far as which housing...it's a like everything else, it's a personal choice of how much you want to spend and what you want to do with it. Some people have had problems with the canon housings, but I've been shooting with the canon housings for years without any problems. (8 or 9 years now)
My son shoots with a G15 in the canon housing, and I use the G16 in canon housing.(pretty much the same camera with a couple new bells and whistles) You can get some nice results with practice. Be your own Santa and get yourself a new toy! :) it's a nice setup.

I just got back from Thailand last week, here's some shots I got with my G16.
