I'm new to diving but have trolled the forums for a while. While doing so I saw some discussion about the Intova cameras. I've been shooting SLR/DSLR for nearly 40 years, but I wanted something for the water that wouldn't break the bank.

I started doing some side-by-side comparisons between the Sport HD II and GoPro (silver). It seemed like the Intova was a better choice on paper so I ordered one from Leisure Pro. I tried it in the pool last week right after getting it, and it seemed to have a periodic issue where a slight depress of any of the buttons would cause the LCD to flicker and show a purplish color. When the screen's color was wonky the pics would look like this and appear very pixelized. Of course I was even getting flak from my wife cause she couldn't understand why I didn't just go with the mainstream GoPro.

I contacted Intova's customer support and sent some sample pics to show them the good and the bad. They were quick to respond and Fedexed out a replacement camera. Wow.

I'm jamming with the new one and really like the quality of the pics it takes while recording HD video.

I think at this price point, the Sport HD II is an excellent camera and low cost way of getting a point-n-click/video recorder for the outdoors.
