Great Photos,
Could you tell us your settings, and what strobe you used.

Thanks to you all at SB for teaching me how to take UW pictures!

scubajoe - and fellow SBers, tell us when you are coming and we will show you all the nice spots to dive (actually, they are all nice so it won't be too hard. )

Fergy - here are the settings on the shots:

All the photos are:
ExposureTime : 1/1000Sec
ExposureProgram : Manual/Supermacro
ISOSpeedRatings : 64
Internal strobe set to slave at 10
FocalLength : 11.90(mm)
The only thing that varied between shots is the f-stop.

1. Anemonefish:
FNumber : F4.5

2. Shrimp:
FNumber : F5.6

3.Hawkfish:
FNumber : F3.6

4. Coral Grouper
FNumber : F4.5

Once in the computer I use a technique, that Gilligan outlined on SB, of accentuating the subject by reducing the brightness a bit and increasing the contrast. This is especially effective when your subject is well lit in the foreground and you have a dark background.

I just had one of those moments -in June 1979 I started as a mainframe computer operator, loading trays and trays of punchcards into the beast nightly. Today I viewed beautiful photos taken 9,000 miles away the very same day, on a machine smaller than the console terminal of the mainframe.

I LOVE THE INTERNET!!!

Excellent photos, enjoy yourself!
