Good travel case for ikelite video housing?

I need a good travel case for both handycam mini-dv sized ikelite housing, any recommendations? I noticed there is a pelican 1600 with foam cut for ikelite SLR housings but I'm finding research on what to get for a video housing is pretty thin.

You might look at the Pelican 1560 with pick and pluck foam.
The only bad thing about the Ikelite photocase, is that it doesn't have wheels.
The 1560 is a little smaller, would still hold everything you need to and has wheels and a pull-out handle.

Thanks much. I wasn't even sure the 1600 was large enough for my housing since they pitch it as solution for still camera housings.

Okay, I did some measurements on my housing. Then I started looking at airline carryon charts. It looks like if I disassemble the housing by removing it from its base, I could get it on one of these:

Pelican 1510 airline-legal carry-on case with wheels

I think we have a winner.

Why would you use a bulletproof, heavyweight case designed for checking through as baggage... why would you use this for carry-on baggage?

Why?

I was originally looking at a case like this but eventually decided a carry-on didn't need the extra protection of the Pelican.

I use a standard wheeled carry-on, using clothing for padding. It's worked out well so far and I have at least a days worth of clothes with me if my checked bag gets lost.

Only fear is if I'm forced to gate check, a Pelican would give more peace of mind.

You may have seen this before, but scroll down the page for the soft-sided housing case that I made.

What Ron said. Small connecting flights check large carryons.

I found a nice solution for carrying my housing and camera equipment in a carryon without fear of it being checked for regional size flights.

I've passed by Brookstone stores in airports and mostly thought "what a bunch of crap". So I was pleasantly surprised to find this:
Brookstone: Dash Rolling Hardside Carry-on

Which was just the right size for my housing and gear:
Picasa Web Albums - jeramy - belize

This isn't nearly as sturdy as a pelican case, but then again it was almost half the price.

Storm (Hardigg Storm Cases, Airtight, Watertight, Waterproof, Protection Systems, Dent-Resistant, Safe and Secure, Guaranteed For Life) also makes nice hard cases, similar to Pelican. For the ones I've bought, the same size Storm case has been lighter & slightly less money than Pelican.
