    Not a diver, but..

    Hello,
I am not a diver and my english is very poor, and old too. I am here because my daughter, who work in Egypt for a diver-club, ask to me for searching informations about two camera and housing. I have found bad informations about the first (Sanyo HD1000 with Epoque housing) and now I am going to search informations about Sony HC62 with Ikelite housing.
I live near Paris (France) and salute to who have read .... (I am afraid the last sentence is not understandable...)

Yes your english is a little broken but that is OK.....your point will come accross just fine. I am sure we will get it figured out. What exactly are you asking? Are you asking about price? Feedback from those who have them already? Once you figure out exactly what you would like to know you might want to post the questions here in the Videography Forum. That way the right people are sure to read the thread.

    Hi,
I own the HC42 and Ikelite housing and have been very happy with it for the past 2.5+ years. The HC62 is the newer version of the camcorder. If you want to see videos, here are a few of mine:

shot in the ocean, low visibility ocean with the HC42 and Ikelite housing, Aug 2008

mix of topside and clear fresh water underwater shot this past May 2008

shot in the ocean this past April 2008, same setup

It is not a high-definition system but it does work well in water (using the red filter which comes with the housing) and also topside.

If you have a specific questions about the system, let me know.

Thank you very much, Robint. Your videos are very nice and intersing to see what can be done with the Ikelite and camescope. I am going to visit a shop in Paris this afternoon, where they sold the camescope HC62 and Ikelite (950€ fot the kit, and it's a promotion).
