Canon HF S10 flash auto pop-up issue?

Okay, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to keep the flash from automatically popping up on the HF S10 when shooting in dual mode. I have it disabled in photo mode, but when switching over to dual mode, every time I go to take a photo, it pops up. That's an issue when it's in my Ikelite housing :-(.

I know I could just switch between the modes, but I was really hoping to be able to keep it in dual mode when diving and be able to shoot video and/or photos without making that type of change.

If anyone knows if it's possible to disable it, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

    Canon's response

Just heard back from Canon and thought I would share.

"While in dual mode, the flash will be set to the auto mode. It is not
possible to turn the flash off in this mode."

    Bummer :-).

Yea, I know. I was setting mine up in my housing and practicing with the controls and went to take a photo and it popped up and hit the top of the housing....I'm definitely bummed.

No video yet, first use will be out in Monterrey area the first week in April (Point Lobos Marine Reserve shore diving & boat dive planned). I will drop you a note once I get something from those dives available.

I'll be diving with it again in May at the Bonne Terre Mine down by St. Louis, MO. Where are you diving in May?

We were planning to dive Bonne Terre this weekend. But it looks like the flu will put a stop to that. I wasn't taking my video camera because I haven't gotten a housing yet.

In May we will be diving the Bahamas with Lost Island Voyages.

Bummer re:Bonne Terre :-)....hope you're feeling better. I bought the Ikelite 6095 housing from B&H Photo, I think it was $759.95 (free shipping).

Bahamas sounds awesome.....I'm so sick of winter!
