I just posted my first video to Vimeo.com and the effect was "wow." I have been using YouTube for my videos because it is so ubiquitous and the most browsed platform for online video. The ease of use and wide exposure are pretty awesome, but the massive compression has made some segments that had a lot going on visually very chunky. I am going to start using both platforms now, Vimeo for posting on forum and Youtube because it is more likely to be found by interested parties. A down side to Vimeo that I have also noticed is that on the free accounts there is a 500 mb/week limit. It is going to take a long time to load all my older videos up if I can only post one a week.
Below are the same videos that I posted to the two different sites.

looking at them side by side, the colors are much more vivid on the Vimeo site. Both videos were supposedly optimized for the respective site by the GoPro studio software.
