Time:.....9:00am through 2:00pm
Air / Water : 72 @ 12:00pm / 60
Wind: Steady wind 10 to 15, gusts up to 20 from the SW
Water surface - Rough surf 1 to 3 rollers, choppy 1' after sandbars
Viz - 12-15'
Depth: 20-25'

Finished up work down near Alhambra. Drove over to check it out and take a chance on getting wet.
Report - SURFACE only
Wasn't even funny.
Winds - blowing hard from the NW (bringing in tonights cold front) speed - 20+
Beach surf was LARGE. 4'-5' breakers
Land temp - 71
Water temp - didn't even get close to test

Sidenote - The weather didn't stop some crazy young kids skip boarding with 2 mil shorties. Nutty. :cool2:

Continued to drive down south looking at every beach along the way. Same conditions.

Caspersen was the calmest, only 1'-3' beach surf.

Bottom must have been silted out, and will be for a day or two.

12/4/08
Time - 11:00am
Air Temp - 71
Water Temp - Computer said 64 but it felt cooler maybe closer to 60
Vizibility - Ready for this, 6 to 8 INCHES!
Tide - Low
Wind - Slight breeze from NW <5mph
Surf - Like glass
Drift algae - None
Bottom silt - Bad, bottom 18 inches of silt stir

Felt like swimming through pea soup. Caught myself looking for teeth w/ my nose 4 inches from bottom. Lots of hand pick-ups, anything bigger than a golf ball was pulled above the bottom silt (18-24 inches) the see if it was worthwhile to keep(?). Many bones frags but nothing to picture or post. Look for the post for Fossilbabe to ID one piece that was/looked cool.

Kayak dive from the park north of Sharky's
Water temp - 62
Viz - 1-2 ft
Incoming tide
Winds - south east
Some surf
No algae

12/17/08
Time - 2:00pm
Air Temp - 72
Water Temp - 61
Vizibility - 3'-4'
Tide - Near High
Wind - Dead calm
Surf - Like glass
Drift algae - Little whale snot
Bottom silt - Fine layer

Decent for a toothin' dive. Looking for teeth was a little difficult due light silt over everything. Plus no current to take the silt stir away. Had to keep moving, if in one place for to long silt caught up to you and total cover up. Even stopping for a second to grab a crab claw was impossible. (and they looked scared :scared: even saw two crabs with only one claw :eyebrow:) Lots of teeth, 50+ or so. Lots of time looking for fossils and one eye for the chance at a Meg. Picked up a few Manatee and Whale bones but nothing to picture or post.

Site Location: Service club
Time: 1:30pm
Water Temp: 64
Vizibility: 3-5 ft
Tide state: incoming
Wind direction and strength - minimal from the east
Surf - Flat
Presence of drift algae - some - it seemed to be what was limiting the viz.

Went out today for the first time - solo - GREAT directions on how to get there and how to find teeth - THANKS!! :D

I swam out about 125 yards - came down right on the reef and swam a few more yards out to the black sand/shell area - found approx 25 teeth nothing much larger than a quarter (photo soon) - some fragmented stingray barbs - and what I think are stingray crush plates - but I am not sure - again - I will post photos soon.
