I dove off the Pride of Maui once - big snorkeling cat that also offers diving. https://www.prideofmaui.com/about/

They have a slide for the snorkelers so of course I asked - but hey made us use the stairs (stairs - not a ladder) instead. Better Idea, off the slide there was still a flat drop to the water unlike the video where it seems like their slide is almost in the water.

There is a reason they are doing that but the slide is a goofy way to do it. This is before dive computers were invented so they are diving tables. Using tables every minute you spend underwater is counted as being spent at your maximum depth. To get the maximum amount of time at depth they want to get to the bottom as quickly as possible. Going in head first off the slide they are starting out head down and completely under the water so they can immediately start swimming towards the bottom as you see in the video. It would give you a few more minutes but not enough to justify using a slide.

Combine post 3 and there it is. Accomplish a goal and make it look good for the camera JYC key to success. Just where are the modern day giants like JYC?

That's a giant? No wonder there are no giants these days if that's the best example that can be given. Who's the giant by the way the guy with the snorkel, the guy in the snake or the snake?
