Nice and bright and clear at McKenzie Bight (Saanich Inlet) today. Visibility was 20-30 feet in the shallows and 50-60' deeper down. It was so bright below 100' deep that I had a hard time being able to tell if my video light was on.
At Henderson Point today, visibility was only a few feet in the shallows, but it started to clear up below 20 feet deep. Below 40 feet or so, visibility was about 40 feet. One weird thing was that the water seemed cold in the shallows. A diver who had just come out of the water confirmed this. According to his computer, the temp. was 11 degrees at depth and 8 degrees in the shallows.
At Sluggett Point (Saanich Inlet) today, visibility was about 10 feet at the surface. Just below, visibility dropped to 6 feet or less down to 30 feet deep, where it cleared to 30-40' visibility.
