Dive Flag Awareness day at the West Hawk Marina and 2 Dive Sites, shore line and The marina at Westhawk lake were cleaned on Saturday June 20th by volunteers and the Manitoba Underwater Counsil we collected over a hundered lbs. of garbage from fishing line, lures to running shoes and underwear.
The sad think is we also collected over 20 lbs of recyclable plastic bottles and tin cans if only the litterers would recycle!
A personal thanks to Doug from One Stop Diving our dive master for the event, larry our safety diver, Peggy the events coordinator also Sean at the Marina and all the volunteers.. I think we've started a good thing so lets keep it up.
