It's not a bad dive, if only for the topography. People usually dive it from a boat. The problem with diving it from shore like I do is that the stairway and the surface-swim always discourage me from doing a second dive here. By the way, I misspelled the name of the island: It's Jesse, not Jessie.
 
Yep, the stairs and surface swim are daunting. I now usually return along the bottom though.
Easier access than Rocky Point in Nanaimo (best dive spot in Nanaimo imho)

neck point is just an ok dive for my dive buddy and i
we have been to rocky point many times
and it is the fav of us both

there are a few small boulders out from the sand
but not much else
so the dive is usually along the rocky reef
and best to the left on entry

going up and down the hillside is a pain
entry is easy, but exit can be super challenging depending on surf

but there is no dive site in nanaimo that would spur me to drive up from victoria
dodd narrows is good, but that is a boat dive and is done on the slack
