Dive operations in Madeira?

Am heading off to Madeira for a short break over Christmas with a couple of non diving friends. I have been searching for dive operators on Madeira and have found a couple on the internet.

I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience of diving there and could tell me who thay dived with, what they saw, water temperature and what they thought of the diving etc.

The only problem is that the hotel we are staying at is 45 minutes drive east of Funchal, where the dive operators I have found are located. Not a big deal but I wondered if anyone know of anyone outside Funchal??

I've never been in Madeira, only Porto Santo which is as amazing diving location. But from friends I would recommend you this dive center: http://www.madeiraoceanos.com/index.htm

I also think that the Garajau Reserve is probably one of the best dive sites.
