:( So I moved to New Mexico for work and family and I don't regret my family for a second. BUT I do miss living in Austin TX where I could go swimming/diving when ever I got a burr up my ya know? The only water i've seen in NM is the rain and my fish tank. I'm tempted to put on the mask and snorkel and dip my head in the tank just to remember what it's like.
And the 1 lake someone did tell me about is well, SAD! it's about 500 SQFT in size and 3 feet deep. *sigh*

Think about how true that is.
Do not dispare my friend, you are about 13 hours drive from some of the most fantastic diving you could desire. San Carlos, Mexico. I'm in El Paso and have been diving here for the past 15 years. Yes it is a drive but well worth it. Drop me a pm and I'll try and let you in on some other dive sites in NM and Texas that are semi-close.
*Loads up the kid and snorkel gear, leaves a note for the little woman*
I am OUTTA HERE! Actually Santa Rosa isn't too far away from SF
Thanks so much my friend!
Not far at all. You need to check-in on the Rocky Mountain forum. Often some planning on being there. I saw that Ron was camping there this weekend. Always 62 degree water - balmy...

Hey Bottlecap.
Where are you in NM? This place is no divers paradise, but there are quite a few divers here. We have a group that goes to the Blue Hole to dive about once a month if you are interested, it is not great, but it is better than nothing, goes to 85-ish feet. As was mentioned, MX and Catalina is not too far, and there are always trips to FL, Coz, etc.
You might want to head over to the Rocky Mtn. Oysters forum to say hi. There are alot if divers in this area and some real nice folks too.
EDIT - Just noticed you are in SF, my sister-in-law is in SF and she dives about once a month at BH. I am in ABQ. There are no dive shops in SF, but there are 3 in ABQ, about 45mins away.
