Did you have any female role models when you got started? If so, were they useful, helpful, or just inspirational? If not, did you care?
I am not a tech or cave diver yet but I wish I had a female mentor to help me. I was just telling my husband the other night that I feel intimidated by all of the younger than me guys and don't feel like I really fit in that world. He has no desire at all to do that type of diving. I can't see myself becoming a hard core tech or cave diver but I would like to explore that world a little. I've taken the Intro to Tech course and really want to take a cavern course. A local role model or mentor that was helpful, useful and/or inspirational would be awesome.
