Question for the she-p users...

Tried again today. The only major problem was a blowout due to me forgetting to open the P- valve bolt. Did a little readjusting & resticking & it worked flawlessly.

Danny suggested adding a Pvalve before heading back to Mexico. Flight is booked so hopefully I can dial it in by mid November? Just placed the order and will read all of your advice again. Any idea how long shipping takes?

Really not looking forward to peeing down my leg and into my DS UG's, so hope I can learn from your trials and advice to bi-pass those ikky moments Thanks !

Maybe best to test drive the contraption around the neighborhood for a hike or two before hooking up the plumbing? Might help?

I don't think it took too long for the kit to ship to me in KY. 3- maybe 4 days after ordering. Took longer to convince my tech instructor that I was serious about ordering a P-valve & installing it in my suit. There was a suggestion to use the Poise pads to help soak up the "spills". It is no worse than a sanitary napkin. That seems to work well, over all. Also watch the videos of the "secrets of the She-P Sisterhood" & follow the suggestions, they really help with the learning curve. Not sure where they are, but know they are on the site. I don't look at my "accidents as failures, as much as just learning to use the device. Even the guys have occasional failures with theirs .

I got to pee like one of the boys yesterday

Total success....finally figuring this silly thing out! It's so wonderful to be able to hydrate properly and not feel like my bladder is going to explode while diving or climbing ladders or whatever!


And Kathy, one thing to consider is that even if you have total success on land (not hooked up to the p-valve), you still have to be patient with it when you are plumbed. Unfortunately, the tubing and valves and bolt and everything else between you and outside of your suit adds a lot of resistance....so you have to be patient and not try to force it out too quickly....otherwise leaks happen.

Finally getting to the point where I can do it underwater. Hopefully one day I'll be able to do it when I'm on the trigger

Let me suggest not wearing your Thinsulate undergarments while you're getting used to the she-p and p-valve....or if you need your Thinsulates, add a Depends between the she-p and the undies. I would have thoroughly ruined my Thinsulates if I had been diving them while learning.

I dived the Thinsulates on Monday when I had success....very excited about that

Heh, I'm still in the learning curve part....a couple weeks ago, the she-p was working perfectly, but I managed to not hook the QD in completely. Thankfully I was going when on dry land and when I realized it was not coming out yet, I knew there had to be an issue. I unzipped and took care of it right away.

I really hope not to pull a stunt like that again....and there have been times where I haven't plumbed and had to think about whether I had or not. I'm just now finishing peeing on myself....hopefully I remember that I can't always go cause I'm not always hooked up!

If you are wearing thinsulate, just be sure to wear heavy poise pad or such during the learning curve... (I say this again and again) You may never need it, but its kind of like all the redundant gear we carry...
