As the preparations to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of The Lusitania off the Old Head of Kinsale, it was reported that divers who are working with the wreck are being crippled by rules that impede them from exploring the wreck and restore some important relics.

Eoin McGarry, a diver from Dungarvan, is a friend of the owner of The Lusitania wreck, Greg Bernis, expressed that when they started diving to restore some relics their biggest challenge was the incredible depth at which the wreck lies, 300-feet. Presently, paperwork is a major problem. ‘The main issue which we would like the public to know is that the state deemed the wreck to be an archaeological site which we are disputing’, Eoin explained...
