This is an open question for anyone with information: my shop gets quite a few requests to run PADI's Seal Team program. The kids love it, so we need to get our hands on more kids' BCD's. Unfortunately, Oceanic stopped making those great little Explorer BCD's, and I can't think of any manufacturer out there who's got them.

Any ideas?

Get a bunch of small backplates (for people under 5'3" tall) from DeepSeaSupply and put together a BP/W setup. :)

The thought had occurred to me...but I'm having enough trouble getting a small b/p from Oxycheq. A regular size one will not work: believe me, if it doesn't work for me, it won't for a child. Besides, I think for a child, a stab jacket will offer a better sense of security.

Sadly, Zeagle no longer makes anything for kids.

The Aquatec looks promising.

We got our then-12-year-old very petite daughter a Triple-L Juvi BCD a couple years ago. Great quality, particularly considering less than $150. Two tank straps.

I don't see the Juvi advertised on the now-ScubaL domestic-U.S. domestic-U.S. web site anymore. They do have the "Juvi 7" on their international international web site for $140.99. Looks identical to our Juvi. But they ship that from their factory in Vietnam, and the shipping charge may be a killer.

Seasoft Scuba has come out with an adjustable jacket style BCD. It is adjustable for 45lbs to 170lbs. It is a perfect BCD for a small child to grow into. I bought a couple and plan on putting 8 into rental to run seal team next summer. Here is the link.

Looks great! I'm having the shop look into it. I'd love to hear what you think of them once you've got them in hand.

Thanks so much for the link!

Just checked Zeagles website, at first glance, the stilletto, ranger, and tech are all available in xs, which is tiny. Zeagle may not make any BCs that they call a kids BC, but they certainly make sizes that will fit kids. They also have enough adjustability
that the kid will not growout of it too quick.
