I have an Ocean Kayak Drifter too.
I was able to add a line going all the way around the edge of the yak, so I can clip off anywhere I need. Rather than adding rivets or the like to the Yak.

My Ocean Kayak Prowler has the lifelines all around, they came with it. It is SUPER handy for clipping things to!!

Venice it is then! Weather permitting. How about 0900 @ the new park next to sharkey's? It's about a 3/4 mile paddle to the boneyard.
