hey gang, ive read a thread a while back about energy drinks and diving. well i actually own a marketing company that sells a line of fully organic energy drinks, meal replacement bars, and daily multi-vitamins. the drinks have 0 sugar, 0 carbs, and very low amounts of caffine. they do however have 5400 percent of your daily allowance of b-vitamins. the suppliments are used by top atheletes. one of whom is asafa powell the worlds fastest man. if you have any questions you can check out my website at Health Sports Nutrition - Home Page, or email me directly at sandmanz32@hotmail.com

What's the sweetener in the drinks? They must make for some deeply colored whizz. I would not piss my wetsuit after drinking one

lol, the sweetner is sucrose. yea i wouldnt pee in mine either, if you have ever taken b-vitamins before it does turn your pee a bright yellow. which doesnt hurt anything, but is odd the 1st time it happens

well i actually own a marketing company[...]
It certainly sounds better when you say "own a marketing company" instead of "have bought into a multi-level marketing scheme". Honestly, I don't mind people doing the whole MLM thing (as long as they don't try to get me in on it), but your post reads like an ad for "your" products. Do you really think we care that some random person uses the stuff?

I've seen people post about the latest energy drink they've fallen in love with, but they say something like, "Man, this stuff gives me a buzz, and it doesn't taste like that Red Bull crap." (In person, they don't use that particular brand or description, but you get the idea.) I've never seen anyone say, "This TacoJuice Extreme has 15 calories per 8-ounce serving, plus a full week's supply of seven essential vitamins and minerals, and it's used by Marge Simpson and several of the world's foremost veterinarians." You sound like you're paraphrasing the marketing materials.

At the very least, use some capital letters and correct the spelling and punctuation. If we're going to be subjected to efforts to make money off us, at least make it pleasant to read. (If you had made an effort to be creative or entertaining, I may not even have found the post worthy of a reply such as this.) Anyway, I don't think advertisements for MLM health stuff are supposed to go in the Basic Scuba Discussions forum.

wow, it must be horrible to be such a negative person

Umm I may be mistaken, but isnt Sucrose common table sugar? C12H22O11
and if so, how can it be zero calories...

sounds like about 5300% too much b vitamins

Actually, I tend to be a very positive person who truly enjoys helping people. The fact that I've been soured against MLM concepts shouldn't cause you to think that I am generally sour.

As a token of goodwill, let me give you a hand. If you have Windows XP, press the left shift key five times in a row. That should give you a "StickyKeys" popup. Click "OK" to turn StickyKeys on, and you'll be able to make capital letters without having to hold down two keys at once. You hit Shift (or Control or Alternate -- it does all three) and then press the second key. The modifier keys "stick" so you don't have to chord multiple keys together. Once it's active, if you need to turn it off, you just go to Control Panel (under My Computer), open Accessibility Options, and toggle the checkbox for "Use StickyKeys". (You can activate it there as well, of course, but the five-shifts shortcut is faster.)

Personally, I've never used StickyKeys, as I can type one-handed and still manage shifting. (Actually, I typed that last sentence right-handed only, and this parenthetical is with only my left. I'm much faster right-only than left-only, but I figured I should try both if I'm going to imply that not using shift is lazy.) Anyway, it's there if you need it, and I'd highly recommend it (or just using the keys as they are).

Obviously, as someone with a marketing company, you know just how much your presentation's visual impression is worth. Even if you're not trying to sell something at the moment, your manner is quite likely to influence your potential customers. (See all the bad LDS threads for plenty of examples of bystanders forming opinions from actions that had nothing to do with marketing.)

I believe it's likely he meant sucralose, not sucrose. Sucralose is made from sucrose by replacing three hydroxyl groups with chlorine atoms to yield a non-nutritive sweetener which is more heat-stable than sucrose and quite a bit sweeter, if I remember my sweeteners correctly. (Don't be too hard on him if that was the case, as you didn't use the [sub][/sub] tags, yourself. C12H22O11 :D)

Actually, I just checked one of the nutritional facts links, and at least "XS™ Energy Drink – Rootbeer Blast – in Limited-Edition Krakoosh Can" does indeed contain sucralose, so yes, let's just call it a simple mistype.

I could be mistaken on the sweetener. I typed the post rather quickly, its actaully sucralose. I'll look into it further.

By the way, if you don't mind my asking (after the rest of things), are any of the flavors better than the others? What do you like (and which aren't your favorites)?

Personally, I don't do energy drinks (but I'm not a raw-foods nut, either ), but I know quite a few who do. If there's a really good flavor, they might be up for trying it. Which one tastes closest to the original Full Throttle (their favorite) or at least in that general style?

I have a fridge full of the rootbeer blast, black cherry cola, and cranberry grape. My fave would most likely be the root beer though. Im not a big fan of the citrus, but i dont like mello yello either. The tea flavors arent that great but once again, unless its sweet iced tea im not big on it. If you liked green tea, or herbal teas they might be for you, but not for me. The meal bars are awesome too, i used to eat protien bars alot when i worked out, and they were always gross. The trim bars, and the XS bars taste like candy bars, not rich with chalky taste like other protien bars.

Oh and by the way, after re-reading my original post it did sound pretty bad, lol. I wasnt tying to post an ad. I do personally use most of what is on my site, and would provide honest opinions if asked. I just wanted to offer that up there to any who are interested. If you want to buy from me....awesome! If not thats cool too, thanks for checking out my site, and dive safe! Yes I do have a MLM business, but they are'nt all scams, mine is quite profitable for all that get into it.
