so I took the battery out last night and touched the 2 terminals with metal simultaneously, put the battery back in and all is good.

Thanks for your post.... However, I am wondering what is for to touch two terminals?

Is this for a reset procedure? Is this a temporary remedy or final solution?

Thanks in advance,

not sure all i know is it worked and my battery is back at full strength I just folled the aeris support guys instructions and it worked

Terminals of the computer or battery?

...I think in another thread the Aeris/Oceanic guys said
they ship the dive computers with Sony batteries.

So I'd be willing bet the battery indicator probably works pretty well for Sony batteries.

Right you are, Bill.
I switched to using SONY batts with my Atmos 2 computer and the battery indicator icon shows full power more consistently.
It still gives me a true low batt signal when the battery needs replacement.

I love these Atmos 2 computers, and will be sad if the day comes I have to replace it. I hope the new models that replace this dc'd Atmos 2 have the same agreeable functions I've come to appreciate.

Thanks for everyone's input on this thread.

Thanks in advance,

The computer uses very little power and can run for a brief amount of time
even after the battery is removed. By touching the battery terminals of the
computer together you are draining out any/all remaining power which causes
the computer to start over when the new battery is installed.

This should not be done if you want it retain your current dive information.
i.e. you are changing your batteries midway into a dive trip.
